Black History Awareness RECAP

This event was a milestone in many ways. For starters, we donated more items than in any other event ever before! 650 donations!! These donations consisted of distributing informational cards filled with facts about Black History Month to spread awareness through the community, and $10 purchases at black-owned businesses to help support them through the pandemic. 36 wonderful volunteers came through and went around the community doing some good. It's so amazing to see these people come together for a cause so important to our country.

The informational cards reached hundreds of households in the community. This means it spread awareness and information about Black History Month to these households and created a more unified and educated community. Along with that, these volunteers also spent countless dollars on supporting black-owned businesses. This simply means that this event in total was our most socially aware event to date! We truly wanted to impact the black community and help in whatever way we could.

Those 36 volunteers gained a combined 186 service hours! Rohan Kurup was the winner of our Amazon gift card since he earned the most service hours. We loved giving a little incentive to our volunteers through the gift card. We'll definitely continue doing it over the next events!

The last big milestone met through this event was reaching over 2,000 donations from Connect Events! In fact, we're now over 2,500 in only 7 public volunteering events! This means each event yielded an average of 357 items. That's AMAZING. Expect a separate article on this milestone soon. Thank you so much for all the support and love. We wouldn't be where we are without you all!

Thanks for the read,
