Volunteer Spotlight: Cameron McCaw

Updated: Jan 30, 2021

In every event Connect Volunteering organizes, there is always one volunteer that goes above and beyond to help the community around us. In the event "Letters to our Heroes", that outstanding volunteer was Cameron McCaw.

Cameron is a rising senior at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Washington. He has volunteered with us before for previous events and we always notice he comes with a huge smile on his face and helps us in whatever way he can. This event was a huge showcase of how dedicated and kind he truly is. Most volunteers wrote 4 or 5 letters but he didn’t want to stop there. He wrote a whopping 100 separate letters to the medical staff in our community. I personally read through each of them and none of them were copy-pasted nor poorly written. He spent over 3 full days writing these letters and it was evident he put his heart and soul into writing each and every one of them. 100 letters mean that at least 100 medical staff in the area are thanked and motivated to continue their hard work. 100 letters mean that at least 100 workers are smiling. It's as simple as that. Cameron McCaw was, far and away, the most outstanding volunteer from this event, which is truly saying something since all the other volunteers were AMAZING. I’m proud to say he has earned each and every hour we awarded him for his diligence and thoughtfulness.

Thank you Cameron, the work you put in was truly inspiring.
